This country is considered more developed than Ecuador. However, the landscape of Peru is not striking in diversity. The conquest of the country begins with the Amazon jungle, which stretches from the very border with Brazil.

The highest mountain in Peru is Huascaran (the southern peak) – 6768 m. The northern one is just slightly lower – 6655 m.

In the heart of the mountains, the Inca Empire arose in the 13th century and took a large part of western South America. The roots of the Inca civilization first appeared as a small tribe in the Cusco area.

Nowadays, Cusco has the most of pyramids and ruins that remained from the ancient Inca civilization.

Machu Picchu is an old city for which everyone gathers in Peru, and many trips around the Latin American continent begin in the Cusco region. You can get to Machu Picchu by doing a 4-day hike or by taking a tourist train from Cusco.

In southern Peru, there are deserts and beautiful beaches that gradually flow into Chile. Peruvian beaches are wavy and rough but also quite nice.

However, the country is mostly famous for its mountains, history, and wilderness.
